Conferences coming up
Parent/Teacher Conferences begin the week of November 4th. 15 minutes is a very short amount of time to share everything I'd like to about your student. We will mostly cover standardized testing scores during our short time together. Looking forward to meeting all of you again!

Typing Club
Students now have an account with Typing Club. We will work on keyboarding a minimal amount at school, so students can access the link on the right side of this page to work more at home. At Open House I mentioned how students will need good keyboarding skills when the testing in 2015 changes. Students will be required to do an entire standardized test on the computer - essay writing included. We are taking a proactive approach now, so that students can have the most success possible with the test.
Students use their first initial/last name, then arrowhead as password. They also have a unqiue password which is their school ID#.

The Journey of Fallen Rock
We just finished out introduction to Social Studies by reading The Journey of Fallen Rock. It is a Native American story that covers the regions of the United States and a children's story about family, character and our need to protect and preserve our natural resources. The characters are "signs" from the Protectors of Our Land. Please ask your student to share what they have learned. You may even want to read their book when it comes home. They sure have enjoyed the book!
The author Bill Merical, from Virgina, will visit our 4th grades at Arrowhead this Thursday, October 3. We will be able to discuss our questions and hear insight from the author about his important message to students.
